Live Facial Recognition Operation

Good afternoon all, 

I just wanted to share some good news and the results from a Live Facial Recognition (LFR) operation that took place yesterday on Oxford Street.

The West End Town Centre Team worked with the LFR team from 10am and we set up on Oxford Street opposite the Disney Store. 

We ended the operation with 7 arrests, these were for:

1 x male arrested for Breach of Court Order (Football banning order) from 2023

1 x male arrested as he was wanted by British Transport Police for a series of shopliftings from stories inside train stations in London

1 x male arrested as he was wanted for Robbery however he was further arrested at the scene for possession of a bladed article and whilst in custody he kicked the arresting officer in the chest and was further arrest for Assault on an Emergency Worker. 

1 x female arrested for failing to appear at court for theft

1 x female arrested for failing to appear at court for public order offences and assault on an emergency worker from 2023

1 x male arrested for was wanted for threats to kill

1 x male arrested for failing to appear at court for theft

These operations are ran regularly in the West End and we will strive to use all available technologies to help us bring down crime and remove these offenders from our community.
